DAVE Kitson completed his impressive pre-season rehabilitation by bagging his first-ever goal at the Britannia Stadium during last night's final summer friendly.

Kitson netted confidently from the penalty spot to round off a close-season comeback so effective as to promise a genuine resurrection of his Stoke City career.

The only pity was that his goal couldn't reward a decent all-round showing with a first summer win as Stoke blew a 2-0 lead to make it four draws and two defeats from their six friendlies against senior opposition.

“Anon, Meir - typical glory hunting Man Ure fan. You know nowt about football or you would know that Valladolid are from Spain; in fact, you cannot even spell Red Devils correctly! Absolutely incredible!”

“From what i could see in this friendly we were out to give this one extra effort different to others played so far.
First half we were good at times but these times were very few and far between.
Second half i felt that villadolid went up a couple of gears and played some lovely football and the goals wernt bad either but only a few of our players joined them at that level.
I dont see TP coming up with the goods at the end of the day regarding signings, the players we are talking about are no better than what we have allready and if he signs Kenwyn-Jones well it will be like putting 8-10 million pounds down the drain.
My only hope is that the players being touted about are infact decoys to the targets we are after,a bit of Tango bate if you like.
I had it on very good authority that it was a 99.9% done deal with ZIGIC i dont doubt my source one bit,but they keep making twists and turns and u turns i suppose this comes from being amateurs in the transfer market.”

“Kittson, sticking one in at home, only a shame it was from to penalty stop and ment nowt. Where were the other side from, I'v never heard of them. Anyway good luck to all you potters this season, glad you stayed up, as its 6 clear points for the Red Devels, and we need all the help we can get this year with frount line like Owen and Rooney,
    Jesus, it'll be hard going.”
