Karate kids back on road
YOUNG karate enthusiasts are one step closer to being able to compete in competitions after launching an appeal for help.
The Sentinel reported in February that youngsters at Burslem Budokan were unable to compete in competitions, because the karate club's minibus was off the road.
Chief instructor Don Cook said the club couldn't afford repairs on their nine-seater bus, which has engine problems, so they had been unable to use it for a year.
But people came forward to offer advice in the wake of the appeal and a garage has been lined up to do the repairs.
Mr Cook, aged 54, of Burslem, said: "A&J Autos in Tunstall is going to rectify the engine problem and put it through its MOT free of charge."
Anyone who can offer more help, or who wants to join the club, should call 07702 718566.
