RODE Park shrugged off their poor start to the Section A season with a three-run win against Sandyford.

Sandyford's Callum Dale (3-13) impressed to help dismiss Rode Park for just 84... but little did they know that would be a winning score.

Rode Park's James Deans then ran through the Sandyford batting to finish with 5-10 as they were bowled out for 81.

Kidsgrove earned a three-wicket success at Knypersley, mainly thanks to a superb all-round display from Mitchell Spencer.

He took 4-17 which, coupled with Elliot Maginnis's 5-25, restricted Knypersley to 124 all out, despite Christian Percival hitting 45 and Andy Baker 35 not out.

Spencer then struck an unbeaten 56 to see his side past the post.

In Section B, Newcastle were five-wicket victors over Moddershall.

Fraser Hawkins (41) and Dean Tooth (27) shone in Moddershall's 150-5 declared. But Newcastle's Adam Smith (46), Nathan Sutton (36) and Ryan Burke (30) guided their side to victory.

Porthill Park were convincing winners against Oulton, who were dismissed for 126 in response to Porthill's 183-8 declared.

Church Eaton won by 19 runs at Checkley in Section C.

Dan Smith (3-11) and Zaki Qureshi (3-16) dismissed the hosts for 82 as they replied to Church Eaton's 101 all out.

Cheadle beat Wootton by 69 runs, with Jake Thompson hitting 57 not out for the winners. In Section D, Wood Lane defeated Audley by 10 wickets.

Ryan Hassett, Nathan Lightfoot and Niall Hassett took three wickets apiece to skittle Audley for 138.

Hassett (71no) and Lightfoot (63no) then hammered the Audley attack to romp home.

In Section E, Eccleshall enjoyed an eight-wicket win at Wedgwood.

After dismissing the home side for just 58, they then had Dave Lakin (30) to thank for achieving the win.
