Jules Hornbrook: Lincoln result a real pointer to our destiny this season
TAKING a point at Lincoln was a steady result, despite some supporters describing it as two points thrown away, writes Jules Hornbrook.
The Alex have no divine right to beat any team in this division.

Many will disagree, but I'm afraid it's the reality.
Our current mid-table position is, I believe, about right for the squad.
From what I've seen there is sufficient quality to suggest we can creep up the league, but let's keep things sensible.
Potentially, we can beat anyone. Sadly, any League Two side can beat us, too – as we discovered in our opening games.
Taking the lead at Sincil Bank buoyed those who made the trip, and the late flurry of goalmouth activity also suggested that all three points could indeed have been taken.
However, Ashley Westwood's lapse in midfield and the ensuing defensive confusion proves we remain vulnerable.
Rhys Taylor, the young goalkeeper on loan from Chelsea, continues to impress. I reckon we'd be near the bottom without his contribution.
In fact, extending his stay at Gresty Road must be top of the manager's "to do" list.
We must thank former manager and one-time academy director Steve Holland for the youngster's arrival. It is testament to the man's professionalism that he still recommends players to the Alex.
His departure from Crewe was messy, so he would have been forgiven for severing all links with the club.
Supporters played a significant role in Holland's sacking, with chairman John Bowler eventually bowing to pressure after several very vocal matchday protests.
So not for the first time we must praise Dario Gradi for the respect he still holds within the game.
It's easy to criticise the guy, and I am one of many who believe it's time for a significant reshuffle at the club – boardroom included.
However, when you consider he has once again stabilised the first team, there is no denying he is currently the best man for the job.
If we are to enjoy success this season then it will be because of his leadership.
So perhaps more so than ever I'd love to see us winning and achieving at least a play-off spot next May.
Let's just manage our expectations a little better. A point at Stevenage this weekend will be another small step towards our goal.
