Dad Osman, aged 33, of Dee Lane, Clayton, said: "My wife and I were so happy to be told that Rumeysa's cancer had gone. It's been really hard for the family while she has been ill but we're really glad that this is over now and she has got the all-clear."
Parents Osman and Esra took Rumeysa to the doctors in April after noticing a lump underneath her belly.
She was immediately sent to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire and diagnosed with cancer that day.
Osman added: "It was a complete shock when the doctor told us she had cancer.
"When he was speaking to me, I couldn't really absorb it or understand what was happening.
"We would never have known anything if it hadn't been for that lump. She never cried or appeared to be in pain."
Rumeysa underwent two kidney operations at Birmingham Children's Hospital in June. She will need a kidney transplant at some stage.
Esra, aged 31, said: "As a parent you never want to see your child ill. Because she was so young when she was diagnosed, as her mother, you often wish it was yourself who was ill.
"We've got a little boy Huseyin, who is four, and it has been hard for him because he was always asking where I was because I had to stay with Rumeysa in hospital. He didn't really understand what was happening. We've been told by the doctor that the cancer can come back but hopefully it won't."
Rumeysa was among children handed gifts by Stoke City stars during the players' annual visit to the hospital's children's centre last month. She was pictured with Potters striker Michael Owen.
At training yesterday, Michael said: "It is great news to hear that Rumeysa is well again, especially at this time of year. I loved visiting the children at the hospital and this news just tops it off perfectly."
