RIDING HIGH: Movie star Joseph Millson is supporting William Simpson in more ways than one.

Apart from giving the little boy a lift, the actor, who played MI6 agent Carter in the last James Bond movie Casino Royale, is backing the Monkey March for Caudwell Children.

He met two-year-old William, from Meir, who is the inspiration behind a new charity run, in Stafford where he is appearing in Hamlet.

William has Mitral Valve Stenosis, a rare heart defect that restricts his blood circulation.

In June, William along with his mother, Tracey, and father, Chris, were taken to Disney World, Florida, by Caudwell Children. Now the Simpsons wants to help raise money for other families to go on similar trips by promoting and taking part in the Monkey March.

The march takes place at Trentham Monkey Forest on Saturday.

“After hearing about little William's brave battle and the work Caudwell Children does, I was delighted to be invited to come and meet the family,” said Joseph.

Trudi Beswick, chief executive officer for Caudwell Children, said: “We are very grateful for the support of Joseph and the cast of Hamlet.”

She also encouraged others to join in the fun saying: “It is important that we get as many people as possible to take part to give as many children as we can an opportunity to enjoy their dream trip.”
