Jaguar prowls new market with competitive XF estate
T HE latest addition to the Jaguar range will take it into a new market sector for the first time in its history and allow it to offer an alternative to the dominant German marques.
Although previously it has had the smaller X-TYPE estate the new XF Sportbrake is the first time that Jaguar has ever had a premium-sized estate car and it will allow it to compete with the likes of the BMW 5 Series Touring, Audi A6 Avant and Mercedes-Benz E Class estate.

"A lot of the people who have seen and tested it say that they like the fact that it still looks and feels sporty, that it drives like an XF, and although there are differences in the chassis the self-levelling rear suspension works brilliantly well and will adapt to keep the car stable regardless of how much weight is put in the back.
"The first customer will be taking delivery of their car before Christmas and we already have a nice order bank. We are attracting existing XF saloon drivers who like what they see and the extra practicality of the estate and we are also seeing a lot of drivers currently in other makes, especially Audi A6 Avant drivers.
"It has good specification and some excellent options and I am sure it will be a very good car for us.''
