Irony of MP's dismay at news
Hopefully, the residents of Cheadle will have noted two weeks ago in the Post & Times how our MP Bill Cash was "dismayed by the recent revelations of MPs' expenses".
It is likely that most people have realised how ironic this statement was and know now Mr Cash claimed £15,000 in expenses to pay his daughter for renting her flat, despite owning a property 10 minutes away from Westminster. Although completely within the rules at the time, I believe this was immoral. It appears that the Fees Office soon agreed, and consequently removed the ability to claim expenses to pay rent to a family member. Mr Cash has not yet admitted that what he did was immoral.

The Post & Times story from May 20.
Hopefully, the voters in Staffordshire will think about what we are paying for, in terms of the elections tomorrow.
The story of Bill Cash raises the question, what is a politician's job? We've seen how Mr Cash treats his job; I don't believe the EU is a key priority for his constituents. Most MPs would struggle to think about what Bill Cash has done with regards to his constituents.
I urge voters to apply the principle of councillors putting forward the views of their area forward, instead of standing for their own aims in tomorrow's county council elections, and vote for a new county councillor for Cheadle and Checkley.
It is time for us to be represented by someone who actually stands for the people. It is time for a councillor who listens to our concerns.
