Illusionist's most daring stunt
Derren Brown: Apocalypse C4, 9pm
DERREN Brown is back, unleashing his most audacious plan yet – to convince one person that the planet has been devastated by a catastrophic meteorite strike, that lethally infected zombies now roam the land, and he is one of a mere handful of survivors. How will he do it? By putting them to sleep and waking them up in Wolverhampton.
The chosen 'survivor', says Brown, pictured, will be someone who takes life for granted and has yet to truly value what they have. Wayne Rooney would do well to lock the door to his bedroom.
The adventure that awaits them, claims the illusionist, considered the best since Ali Bongo, is meticulously crafted to deliver the ultimate wake-up call and teach them valuable life lessons. If successful, it'll be extended across all Young Offender Institutions.

The question is: will the victim rise to the challenge? If not, and he appears to enjoy life among the zombies (there's a possibility he's become accustomed to the scenario after spending time in a Hanley taxi queue on a Saturday night), the show could be something of a damp squib.
Apocalypse, the first of four 2012 Derren Brown specials, features the Paul Daniels wannabe's customary inventive mix of thought provoking stunts and suggestion, combined with tried and tested psychological tricks and experiments. No wonder it's so often confused for Countryfile.
Some of us would rather have It's A Knockout back on a Friday, but there you go.
