Husband of Charlotte Smith appears in court to deny murder
A 33-YEAR-OLD man has appeared in court to deny murdering his wife.
Devendra Singh is accused of killing Charlotte Smith whose body was discovered at her home in Ladderedge, Leek, on September 6.
A post-mortem examination revealed the 41-year-old – who was known by family and friends as Charlie – died from head and facial injuries, which are suspected to have been caused by a blunt instrument.
Singh, of Ladderedge, pleaded not guilty to the charge at Birmingham Crown Court yesterday.

He is now due to stand trial at Stafford Crown Court in February.
