PLANS to turn a pub into a three-storey house with 12 en-suite rooms will be discussed by councillors.

An application to transform the former The Doxey Arms, on the corner of The Crescent and Doxey Road, Stafford, has been called in by Stafford Borough Council members who fear there is not adequate parking.

The pub will be turned into a multiple occupation house, with shared kitchen facilities and eight parking spaces.

Members of Doxey Parish Council have objected to the plans for a number of reasons, including congestion and that it would take away a potential community meeting place.

However, borough council planners have recommended members of the council's development control committee approve the plan when they meet tomorrow.
