WOOF WALK: Dog owners took part in a walk with their pet pooches to raise money for charity.

The Bark in The Park event took place at Westport Lake yesterday and was held in aid of Arch North Staffs, a Hanley-based charity which works with the homeless.

Dave Caddy who runs Dial-a-dog-wash, teamed up with Kidsgrove pet store owner, Peter Herbert, to organise the £5 walk.

Participants walked with their dogs from the Vodafone call centre at Festival Park along the canal path to Westport Lake, where they completed a couple of laps before finishing with refreshments.

Arch fund-raiser Ray Elks said: "Every entrant paid £5 and got a free goody bag and portrait of their pet and there was lots of entertainment going on throughout the day.

"It's completely different to any other sort of fund-raiser and it was a great day for the owners, their families and their dogs."
