The Sentinel

I AM appalled at the external appearance of Silverdale Nursing Home, Newcastle Street, Silverdale.

The present condition of the Silverdale Nursing Home resembles a large, cladded, wooden poultry shed, which has been abandoned.

The present state of the nursing home sends the wrong message to would-be buyers, who come to Silverdale to view the many new homes being built on Silverdale Heritage Park.

Silverdale is a place to live. It is well-supported by many shops, including a post office, library, doctor's surgery, parking places and a parish council, and above all, over 200 acres of land where people can walk freely in open countryside.

“Re-clad it? It needs totally tearing down and re-building. I cannot imagine how the people feel who have to live there. What ever does it do to their self esteem? The owners whoever they are ought to be ashamed. Disgraceful is all I can say about it.
Very sad, and disgusting to treat the elderly that way.”

“I understand there is planning permission in to re-clad it.

Couldn't agree more with your comments though.”
