LEEK LADIES had to settle for a point when Nottingham University levelled deep into stoppage time.

Hazel Meredith and Beth Heath went close in the first half for the Moorlanders, but it was the students who opened the scoring after the break.

And it needed Meredith's tenaciousness to draw them level when she stole the ball off a defender before firing the equaliser.

Katie James then edged Leek in front with a fine finish, only for her side to suffer later disappointment.

They made up for that by brushing aside Leeds 4-0 24 hours later in the EHA Cup second round thanks to doubles from Nic Sutton and Meredith.
