VOLUNTEERS are wanted to help out at EMERGE – a voluntary service for adult survivors of sexual abuse.

The service, which offers emotional support to people and their families in Stafford, needs volunteers to join its annual training programme.

The volunteers work on the service's confidential telephone helpline and are also involved in face to face and group support.

The comprehensive annual training course begins on Monday, March 8, and will last eight weeks.

An open evening for potential new volunteers will be held on Monday, February 22, at 7.30pm in the Learning Centre at St George's Hospital, Stafford.

Chris Holley, a consultant nurse, who is an EMERGE trainer and is part of the Trust's sexual abuse service, said: "The work EMERGE does is vital to the support of adult survivors of sexual abuse."

For a volunteer application form, contact Joanne Dykta on 01785 257888 ext 5729.
