HEALTH bosses say they are well underway with a consultation over proposed changes to adult mental health needs in North Staffordshire.

Sessions are currently taking place to discuss the changes involving services for older patients, neuropsychiatry and mental health rehabilitation.

Tony Bruce, NHS North Staffordshire chief executive, said: "We believe the proposals will improve services for patients and ensure service users receive the best possible care."

The consultation runs until April 9. The next meeting to discuss dementia and older people's needs is at Earls Court sheltered housing scheme, in Miller Street, Newcastle, from 10.30am to 12.30pm today.

There is a meeting to discuss all services at Moorlands House, Stockwell Street, Leek, from 6.30pm to 8.30pm tonight.
