Harry Davis: I'll play for Crewe Alexandra wherever dad sees fit to put me
HARRY Davis says he is happy to follow orders and play a midfield holding role when needed – but the manoeuvre is to remain only as Plan X.
The centre-back was asked to play as a midfield anchor for the second half of a home match against Bury at the weekend when Crewe turned a 0-0 battle into a late 1-0 win.

DAD'S ORDERS: Harry Davis.
Manager Steve Davis explained the switch was intended to give more freedom to Luke Murphy and Brad Inman, who went on to combine for the 88th-minute winner.
But the return of Abdul Osman (knee) to light training yesterday and the imminent comeback of Oliver Turton (thigh) mean the move can be put on the back burner.

"I played in a holding role in the youth team a few times and it's different," said Davis junior, aged 21.
"I sat deep to protect the back four, track runners and let Brad and Murph push on. I wasn't going to run forward, just know my strengths.
"I'm not going to charge around, so it's not a complete change in mindset.
"There's less time on the ball, and I've got to deal better with that.
"It was tough, but I'm a team player. I will play anywhere for the team. I'm a centre-back, but if the need arises, I'll do what ever is asked."
Steve Davis must now decide whether to stick with three centre-halves or just two for the visit of Eddie Howe's in-form Bournemouth this weekend.
He said: "Harry did well in the youth team in a holding role, but it's not a position he's played in enough to do that long-term. I did it as a one-off.
"He's been brilliant at centre-back this season and he knows the competition there (with Mark Ellis and Adam Dugdale).
"He knows what he's got to do to keep the shirt."
But is Davis junior better than Davis senior was as a 21-year-old defender for Crewe in the 1980s?
Dad Davis added: "Harry came into make his debut later than me – I was 18 when I made my bow in the Fourth Division. It was the decision of Dario (Gradi) to wait.
"Maybe he was ready before then, maybe he wasn't, but he's settled in now and proven that he's a good enough defender for this division."
