Harman payoff approved at £65k
FORMER council chief Chris Harman today accepted a £65,616 pay-out from Stoke-on-Trent City Council to quit his post.
The interim chief executive left the authority this afternoon after members of the human resources committee agreed on the settlement.

At the end of a three-hour debate, which took place behind closed doors, council leader Ross Irving revealed that the pay-out had been approved by eight votes to one.
The settlement is equivalent to six months' salary in Mr Harman's £131,232-a-year permanent role as assistant chief executive, rather than the higher salary of about £157,000 for his acting role.

“As a parent of a child witha disability that has been told, that our children's services are to be cut due to lack of funding, this is an absolute disgrace. I find it appaling that this council would rather pay off someone to leave their employment instead of paying for services for the children in this city who have severe disabilities. I am sure that I can speak on behalf of other parents when I say that we will take this as far as it needs to go.”

“well us people in the city put up with this trash from trashy people who don't give a fig out of quality of life.
I agree the ballot box is the way to sort it , but who do we vote for?
Corrupt proven Labour, Conservatives, LIB Dem's on one hand or the hate fuelled BNP
What a choice no wonder we Nealy given up in this city.”
