FORMER BIG Brother stars Sam and Amanda Marchant are backing Halfwit to the win the TV show.

The twins, aged 21, above, from Knutton have been helping the reality TV show celebrate its 10th birthday as part of Channel 4's online coverage.

And when asked by fans who was their favourite in this year's crop of contestants the twins jointly voted for Halfwit, real name Freddie Fisher, of Oakley Hall, near Loggerheads. They revealed they wanted to give long-haired Marcus a makeover.

Former Wolstanton High School pupils Sam and Amanda, who now live in London, were at university in Manchester when they were catapulted into the spotlight during Big Brother 8 in 2007.

Since then they have released a single, workout DVD, and perfume.

For the birthday celebrations they attempted to recreate one of their BB tasks to examine if they are telepathic.
