Hairy Bikers eat themselves slim
The Hairy Dieters BBC2, 8pm
FOR the Hairy Bikers, years of overindulgence has taken its toll. Honest blokes, Si and Dave accept that, like the majority of the population, they are overweight.

FAT-FIGHTERS: Hairy Bikers Si and David.
It was when they got on their motorbikes and the wheels buckled that the penny dropped.
But the boys are determined to still love their food while they lose weight, which means confronting some truths about themselves and what they normally consume.

Facing the stark reality of how much fat their bodies actually contain is tough. And coming to terms with the truth reawakens childhood memories and not a little emotional turmoil.
With the support of their families, however, and advice from weight loss clinicians, the pair, who could lose two stone each simply by shaving, take on the challenge to lose the lard.
And they do so with their characteristic zest for food and life.
The boys thus embark on a new culinary adventure to reinvent the classic dishes they adore, making them big on flavour but low in calories. Shepherd's pie without the shepherd, for example.
Recognising the power of group motivation, they join forces with a band of similarly rotund foodies who road test the boys' recipes while shedding the pounds themselves.
The Bikers also allow viewers into their homes, turning their kitchens into food labs, bathrooms into confessionals, and families into food critics.
Serving up personal revelation with delicious dishes, they begin to eat themselves slim in a bid to lose two-and-half stones in three months.
