Guides look to centenary
VISITORS are being invited to step back in time at a Girlguiding exhibition next month.
Members of Threapwood and Uttoxeter Trefoil Guild are staging the display as part of its celebrations marking Girlguiding UK's centenary.
And they are appealing for past and present members to come forward with memorabilia.
Group chairman Isabel Branford, from Cheadle, said: "We are particularly interested in former members of the movement, but everyone is welcome to come and celebrate our centenary with us."
The group, the adult friendship and support section of Girlguiding UK, is holding the event at Cheadle Guild Hall on Sunday, February 14 between 2pm and 5pm.
And Mrs Branford added: "We would like to find out more about the area's guiding history, so if anyone can shed some light on the movements early days, we would be delighted."
