GROOM Phil Temple took part in a charity bungee jump – minutes after getting married.

Phil and new wife, Michelle, had just married at Leek Register Office on Saturday when they were lifted to the top of the bungee crane.

And Michelle, who is scared of heights, could only look as Phil jumped from the platform while still wearing his wedding gear.

The 38-year-old bungee jump veteran said: "It was more comfortable doing the jump in a wedding suit than what I've worn before."

The fund-raiser was held at the Britannia pub they run in Leek to raise money for the Sandally Education and Development Scheme, which works to improve the lives of people in The Gambia.

Michelle said: "Seeing the bungee jump was a good way of getting an adrenaline rush on your wedding day."
