Green changes aid school
RENEWABLE energy specialist The Green Electrician has helped a primary school become carbon neutral.
The South Cheshire firm has installed solar panels and a biomass boiler at Barrow 1618 Primary in Shropshire, which has just moved from state school status to become an independent free school.
The Green Electrician, which employs around 60 people in Wardle, near Nantwich, also put together an energy reduction plan that included procuring a cheaper electricity contract, and installing an energy monitoring system and energy-efficient lighting and radiators.
Bosses said the measures will cut Barrow's electricity and heating bills by 31 per cent.
