Graduates on their bikes to win film contest
A PROMOTIONAL film which highlights why people in Stoke-on-Trent should get on their bikes has been launched.
The film is the winner of a short film competition, sponsored by The Sentinel and Stoke-on-Trent City Council initiative CycleStoke.
It is the work of graduate film-maker Nathan Williams, who joined forces with other enterprising graduates Nick Bond and Gary Stewart (Brightsine Audio) and Steve Cranston (Lilac Productions), on the winning entry.
Nathan, who set up his business NK Williams with support from the Staffordshire University's enterprise fellowship scheme, said he saw the competition as a chance to showcase what graduates have to offer and the professional standards they work to.
He said: "We did research into cycling and how the council wants to develop it and incorporated it into the two-minute film which all came together following a beautiful day's filming in the city."
Councillor Hazel Lyth, council cabinet member for adult social care, sport, leisure and culture, said: "The city has miles of cycle track making it an ideal location to get out and about.
"This film is a fantastic way of showcasing the benefits that cycling brings."
