Golden gesture to help hospice
DIG out your old earrings and bangles, because a charity claims it can turn unwanted jewellery into valuable care for sick people.
The Douglas Macmillan Hospice is urging residents to donate old gold jewellery as part of its latest fund-raising campaign.

GOLD RUSH: Hospice worker Becky Cooper.
The charity will then cash in the precious metal and use the proceeds to fund its work providing care at home and at its Blurton hospice for patients with life-limiting illnesses.
Supporters of the 'Give Gold … Provide Precious Care' campaign can take their jewellery to any one of the charity's 14 shops.
It can alternatively be left with staff at the Trentham Road hospice.
