Ben-Hur (1959 at the ABC, Hanley)
I saw William Wyler's epic film as a lad and it thrilled me. The chariot race was amazing.
Forrest Gump (1994 at the Odeon, Festival Park)
Robert Zemeckis' parody of 1960s life was cleverly told. I watched certain scenes again and again.

Amadeus (1984 at the ABC, Hanley)
This is the best film there is on a classical composer. It had great acting, great music and great directors. And of course it was a great hit at the box office.
Moonstruck (1987 at the ABC, Hanley)
This is one of the best romantic films there is, with wonderful characters and feel good music.
Much Ado About Nothing (1993 at the Odeon, Festival Park)
Kenneth Branagh made the most charming of Shakespeare's plays look great on the big screen.
Once Upon A Time In The West (1969 at the ABC, Hanley)
I love a good western and this ground-breaking film blew me away.
The Lion King (1994 at the Odeon, Festival Park)
This is the best of the modern animated Disney films. There were memorable tunes and fun characters. I took my wife and daughter to see it on a day off.
Titanic (1997, at the Odeon, Festival Park)
This epic was a feast for the eyes on the big screen. It had the best effects seen in the modern age.
Beckett (1965 at the ABC, Hanley)
This historical drama starred my favourite actor, Richard Burton. It also had a great script. Great British history.
Cinema Paradiso (1988 at the Odeon, Hanley)
This is my favourite subtitled film and the best movie about cinema. Every cinema worker should watch this one.
