Gemma's Ray of Hope was set up after the death of Gemma Ray, an Apprentice at De Vere Academy Wychwood Park. She was 2 days away from her 18th birthday and 19 weeks pregnant when she passed away during an Epileptic Fit in her sleep. The aim of the charity is to raise awareness of the risks around Epilepsy and SUDEP (Sudden Unexpected Death in EPilepsy).
