Garage wins again - for the fourth year running.
A GARAGE has proven itself to be the best in the country after winning the industry's equivalent to the Oscars for the fourth year running.
ABP Motorsport in Shavington, Crewe, not only retained its crown as 'Garage of the Year' but also beat heavyweight rivals across the country in a new category for large garages in the annual CAT (Car and Accessory Trader) magazine's contest in which customers rate the businesses they use.
Although the voting figures are not revealed, organisers indicated ABP's ran into thousands with customer comments including 'brilliant staff,' 'totally trustworthy' and 'first class in all respects.' ABP also proved to be a hit with female motorists with more than 60 per cent of comments came from its increasing female customer base.
ABP managing director, Chris Meredith, 39, says: "Winning for four consecutive years is wholly unprecedented and this year it is even more of a staggering achievement as we were placed against the 'big boys' in the Large Garage category. When we heard the categories were being split into Small and Large, and we were placed in Large, we thought we didn't stand a chance as we are pretty small in comparison to many of the larger, national entrants.
"So I went along to the awards ceremony not expecting anything at all and couldn't believe my ears when our name was called out as Garage of the Year again. We can't thank enough everyone who took the time to vote for us." It's the fifth national award in four years for the garage which employs nine staff. It was also named Motorcodes Garage of the Year in 2012 after scoring top marks in customer surveys, a mystery shop and a leading industry judging panel.
ABP Motorsport offers a full range of garage work including MOTs, servicing, repairs and four-wheel alignment.
