FRIENDS and relatives of a North Staffordshire tourist who died in a plane crash in Nepal were gathering to say their final farewells to him today.

Retired teacher Steve Holding, aged 60, of Barlaston, was among 19 passengers killed in the tragedy.

The plane crashed just two minutes after taking off from Kathmandu's Tribhuvan International Airport on September 28.

Cheshire East Council worker Raymond Eagle also died in the incident.

The crash has so far been blamed on pilot error and a bird striking the plane.

Mr Holding's funeral service was being held at Carmountside Crematorium.
