THE funeral of the landlord of a much-loved Potteries pub was due to take place today.

A ceremony celebrating the life of Neil Crisp was due to be held at Bradwell Crematorium this morning.

Mr Crisp, who was landlord of the historic The Leopard pub in Burslem, died suddenly on Tuesday, January 5 at the University Hospital of North Staffordshire.

The 43-year-old and partner Neil Cox were credited with the renaissance of the pub.

Mr Crisp was also in the process of restoring Hanley's Market Tavern.

His funeral service and cremation were due to take place at 11am today.
