Funeral date set for Tin Can Man
FRIENDS, relatives and well-wishers of Tin Can Man John Leese are being asked to make donations in his memory to the hospice that he championed during his life.
The 86-year-old, from Werrington, died in hospital earlier this month after contracting pneumonia.
He had become a well-known face in North Staffordshire after spending 19 years collecting money for the Douglas Macmillan Hospice in Blurton, which cared for his wife Olwen in her final days. Mr Leese raised £361,000 altogether.
Now people are being asked to make donations to the hospice in his memory.
