Fun with poet and cartoonist
POET and broadcaster Ian McMillan will swap the BBC Radio studios for a village hall to perform a show alongside cartoonist Tony Husband.
The comic duo are on tour with A Cartoon History of Here, a show in which they tailor the content of the evening to the locality.
It will be brought to Calton St Mary's Memorial Hall on Thursday, March 4, under the Live and Local programme.
Yorkshireman McMillan rose to prominence when he was appointed to the unusual post of poet in residence at Barnsley Football Club.
He regularly appears on radio programmes, including Just a Minute.
Husband is a contributor to Private Eye and has a daily sports cartoon in The Times.
The event starts at 8pm.
Entrance is by ticket only, priced £7, with concessions available. For tickets, call 01538 308149.
