Friends could hold the clue to man's mystery death in Hanley flat
POLICE are hoping to speak to friends of a 47-year-old man found dead in his flat to help trace his final movements.
On Monday officers concluded their investigations at Simon Hammond's flat in Matthew's Walk, off Hordley Street, Hanley.
Now the force is keen to paint a picture of what Mr Hammond did in the days leading up to his death after revealing the last recorded sighting was a visit to his family on Sunday, February 10.
Mr Hammond's body was found at the flat on Friday morning. Residents claim he was discovered by a family member after relatives had become concerned over his welfare.

His death was initially described by officers as suspicious - sparking concerns among neighbours that Mr Hammond had been murdered - before police began to treat the death as unexplained.
Now the force is hoping to hear from friends of Mr Hammond as they piece together the circumstances surrounding his death.
Police are urging anyone with any information to contact them on 101, quoting incident number 135 of February 15.
