YOUNG people in the city are invited to swim for free next week.

Under-eights must be accompanied by a paying adult, while the maximum age is 15 years.

Jean Bowers, portfolio holder for health at Stoke-on-Trent City Council, said: "This is intended to help hard-pressed families who may be looking for healthy activities for the holidays."

People can get full details of opening times and adult prices from Dimensions, Shelton Pool, Tunstall Pool and Fenton Manor.

The free junior swim is from August 18 to August 24.
