ADULTS are being encouraged to give singing a go as part of a week-long initiative.

Sing! Right Up Your Street is encouraging adults of all ages and abilities try singing in a scheme designed to help people find self-belief.

People who take part in the week will be given the chance to perform in a concert within Stoke-on-Trent.

The free event runs from Monday, October 19 to Saturday, October 24.

Organiser Clare Edwards says: "Sing! Right Up Your Street is taking away the barriers and the cost that can prevent people from feeling confident enough to learn to sing."

Choirs can get involved by opening up their rehearsals as part of the scheme.
