ADVICE on exercise and wellbeing will be given out at lottery-funded workshops designed to improve the health and lives of Stoke-on-Trent residents.

The free physical wellness workshops are starting next month and open to everyone in the city.

Each series of workshops, arranged by Living Well Stoke-on-Trent, consists of five sessions covering health and wellbeing, self image, healthy eating, physical activity, and relaxation.

Project leader Graham Bailey said: "The workshops build people's confidence and offer them practical ways to make small steps towards adopting a healthier lifestyle."

Taster sessions, including a free buffet, are being held next week. The first is at the Floral Hall Community Centre, Tunstall Park, from midday to 2pm on Wednesday, September 2.

The second session is at the Hope Centre, Garth Street, Hanley from 12.30pm to 2pm on Thursday September 3. The FIVE week courses begin the following week.
