TOP GEAR: Cyclists are being offered a helping hand with repairs and maintenance.

Riders in Stoke-on-Trent who need help getting their bikes back on the road will be able to go along to free repair surgeries around the city.

The Dr Bike initiative, which is being organised by CycleStoke, offers to carry out minor repair for the cost of any replacement parts.

The surgeries coincide with the Tour of Britain cycle race's visit to the city this Sunday.

Dr Bike events this week include: The Strand, Longton, 2-7pm today; Stoke Local Centre, 2-7pm tomorrow; Upper Market Square, Hanley, 4-8pm on Thursday; outside Tunstall Market, 2-7pm on Friday; Ceramica, Burslem, 10am-6pm on Saturday; Victoria Hall, Hanley, 12-4pm on Sunday.
