Come Dine With Me: Halloween Special C4, 8pm

WOULD you want to be hosted for dinner by Freddy Krueger? Yes, if the alternative, as here, is Sally Morgan.

  1. HORROR FOOD: Nicola McLean and Robert Englund.

HORROR FOOD: Nicola McLean and Robert Englund.

Krueger, or at least the actor who played him in roughly 83 Nightmare On Elm Street movies, Robert Englund, is first to cook on this Halloween Special Come Dine With Me – although many would say the show makes horrific viewing whatever time of year.

Joining Freddie and Sally (and this is where Channel 4 have really pulled in the A-listers) is Nicola McLean, the busty model who finished in sixth place on the eighth series of I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here.

Nicola, apparently, is a 'self-confessed scaredy cat', petrified of words of more than one syllable.

Then there's cross-dressing cage fighter Alex Reid.

To be fair, his inclusion in the show makes more sense as, having been married to Jordan, he knows what it's like to stare horror in the face every morning.

Sally Morgan is the well-known medium, touring the country passing on messages from the departed. Krueger's victims, in particular, have a fair bit they want to get off their chest over pudding.

Channel 4 asks us to 'prepare for zombies, vampires, ghosts, and two sacrificial goats', although what Trinny and Susannah have got to do with it, I don't know.

The winner of this horror-themed special will take home £1,000 for charity.

The losers will wonder how wise it was to eat 12 consecutive courses all made out of pumpkin.
