STAFFORD Rangers take on AFC Fylde at Marston Road tonight in the Evo-Stik Premier Division with on-loan defender James Bolton likely to make his debut.

The Macclesfield Town centre-half earned rave reviews from a recent three-month deal with Workington and has agreed an initial one-month spell with Rangers.

"We have Lee Downes and Luke George suspended for the game so we have done a deal with Macclesfield," assistant manager Dorian Garner explained.

"He has been at Workington so he has been playing Conference North football."

Bolton is set to partner Liam Walshe at the heart of Stafford's back four as Rangers look to keep out an in-form Fylde side.

And Garner admits that the heavy Marston Road pitch may not be to the visitors' liking.

"Fylde are a good footballing side, but whether they will be able to play football on this pitch, time will tell," he explained.

"We didn't play as much football (on Saturday) as we have in the past. We concentrated on getting the ball up front and, at the end of the day, that's paid off.

"I'm not saying that's how we are going to play against Fylde, but it's food for thought."

Stafford will looking to hold on to the 11th spot they climbed into following the 5-1 demolition of Kendal at the weekend.

AFC Fylde are just one place and one point below Rangers, but they have five games in hand.

And they will be keen to bounce back from their 3-2 home defeat to Ilkeston last time out.
