STONE DOMINOES manager Dave Dale has told his players to dig in and fight for the cause or clear off.

The Premier Division's bottom side lost 4-0 to an Ashton Athletic side just two places above them last weekend, and Dale, who is preparing for a trip to Winsford tomorrow, was unimpressed.

ANGRY MAN: Dominoes boss Dave Dale has told his players to they need to be up for the challenge after his side slumped to defeat.

He said: "It was an embarrassing performance because that was Stone Dominoes showing what they should never show again.

"It was one of the worst matches of my managerial career and I've told the players to take heed of that and decide if they want to play football again.

"I want to make sure that all of these lads are up for the challenge. If anyone is not up for it – and I'm not pointing the finger – they can go.

"Football doesn't give you characters it tells you who the characters are, and we need to show some tenacity."

Stone are 10 points from guaranteed safety, but more like 11 in reality due to their vastly inferior goal difference.

However, only one team was relegated from the Premier last season and Dominoes are only six points behind second-from-bottom St Helens Town.

Dale added: "We've got 18 games to play. We can still do it, but we've got to start growing up."

Jim Vince's usually free-scoring CONGLETON TOWN have not been able to find the net in their last two games, but they can get right back in the mix with a home match against Silsden.

The Bears sit seventh and frustrated to have only been able to play one match in 2013 so far, a 1-0 loss at promotion rivals Colne last weekend.

In Division One, ECCLESHALL will look to build on a 1-1 draw at Irlam when they travel to high-flying West Didsbury and Chorlton. The Eagles could climb up two places to 15th with three points.
