Ashbourne Aztecs 1, Rocester Juniors (Yellow) 8

IN THEIR second encounter of the Easter period, Rocester Juniors again fired a hatful of goals past beleaguered local rivals Asbourne Aztecs.

Alex Davidson opened the scoring, taking advantage of a well-weighted through-ball from Ben Cresswell and a piercing cross from Marcus Matthews. Davidson then linked up with Callum Lowe to create a chance for Joe Cliffe, who grabbed number two. A neat Matthews flick put Cliffe through for his second and, when Ollie Birch's quickly-taken goal-kick turned defence into attack, Cliffe was again on hand to complete a fine hat-trick.

Rocester's fifth arrived courtesy of a great Matthews finish from an acute angle. Matthews and Chris James then put on their own little double act. First a Matthews cross set up James for Rocester's sixth. Minutes later, James repaid the favour for Matthews, who completed his brace. Josh Morris then rounded off a great team performance with a spectacular 30-yard thunderbolt which whistled past the shell-shocked keeper.
