ON TUESDAY Sandbach Folk Club, which meets at The Market Tavern, hosts Flaxenby.

Wednesday night sees the very talented Christine Collister playing at The Biddulph Arms. Christine has a wonderful voice and shot into the forefront of the national folk scene in a duo with Clive Gregson in the late 80s. She will be accompanied by Rob Cross on guitar and vocals. Call 01782 514896.
It's a busy time at Biddulph with another event next Friday when the Folk Club join forces with Biddulph Literary Society for an evening of storytelling and music at Biddulph Town Hall with The Devil's Violin Company performing their new production A Love Like Salt. Leek Arts Festival begins in style with His Worship And The Pig, who consist of Dave Boulton and Jeff Parton, performing their China Town show at The Red Lion in Cheddleton on Thursday. Call 01538 385260.

On Sunday, May 13 City Voices will hold their sixth annual charity words and music festival at The Leopard in Burslem. Local folk singers and poets perform and this year will include Hayley Strangelove, Pete Shirley, John Williams, Breeze and Wilson and Loud Mouth Women and many others local folk singers as well as some very talented local poets.
