Firefighters tackle 'spate' of garden fires in Middleport
FIREFIGHTERS were called to tackle a series of garden fires.
Officers extinguished blazing trees and conifers at several gardens in Buttermere Close in Middleport and the surrounding areas in the early hours of this morning.

Police were also called to the scene and are investigating claims the fires were started deliberately.
A spokesperson for Staffordshire Fire and Rescue said: "We were called to an incident at Buttermere Close in Middleport.

“So officers distinguished burning trees and conifers did they? So they observed them and identified differences between them? Wow, the fire service have definitely diversified recently. I always thought they were there to Extinguish fires???”
