Fiat driver hurt in crash with milk tanker on A53
A man was taken to hospital on Tuesday night after his car spun out of control and landed on the wrong side of the road following a collision with a milk tanker.
The silver Fiat Punto was travelling on the A53 Etruria Road towards the Basford roundabout when the collision happened at about 6.10pm.
The force of the collision saw the car spin towards the kerb and travel over the barrier separating east and westbound traffic. The driver of the Punto, a 19-year-old man, was taken to hospital suffering from suspected whiplash, a shoulder injury and shock. The driver of the tanker is not believed to have been injured.
