LINEAGE: Ten-year-old Megan Boon will continue a family tradition as she is crowned this year's Brown Edge festival queen.

Megan, pictured, who is a pupil at St Anne's Primary School, Brown Edge, is following in the footsteps of her mother, Marianne and two aunts.

Marianne, aged 29, was queen in 1992 and of her older sisters, Lisa, aged 35, was queen in 1984 and 30-year-old Gemma, was crowned in 1988.

Megan, of Sytch Road, Brown Edge, will be crowned church and festival queen at the celebrations and well dressing on Saturday, July 11.

Her grandmother Margaret said: "It is becoming a bit of a family tradition. Megan is really looking forward to it."
