Jacqueline Steele from Porthill works at Bob Gutteridge estate agents. Here the 48-year-old tells us why she always enjoys a drink in her local, The New Smithy Inn in Wolstanton.

"IT'S one of my favourite pubs, because when you go there you have good company, good beer, fabulous staff and a very good atmosphere. I live nearby so it's my local pub. I usually go with my husband about twice a week. It's quite a small and cosy pub, with an old fashioned interior. On a Sunday there is an excellent quiz put on by Alan, as well as Play Your Cards Right and CardoBingo. Those are all great fun and very popular with the regulars. The winners get cash prizes too, so that's always a bonus! The majority of customers are of the older, more mature generation, but it's nice because there are lot of regulars and everyone knows each other. Anyone is welcome there though, not just the regulars, and that's one of the things I like about it. I would describe it as just a good proper local."
