Fast-growing firms claim top 100 slots
A PAYROLL services provider which has expanded to open offices all over the world has been named in a Top 100 list of private companies with the fastest growing sales.
Safeguard World International (SGWI), based at Sandbach, ranks 23rd in the Fast Track list, which takes into account sales over their latest three years.
It was started in 2007 when founder Bjorn Reynolds, aged 37, bought the loss-making global payroll division of Safeguard World.
Now it says it increases its growth every year. It generated sales of almost £8.5 million in 2011-12 compared to £971,000 in 2008-09, and processes over half a million pay slips per year.

SGWI, which employs 97 staff, now offers services in 99 countries and it has opened offices in America, India and Mexico.
Customers include Google, eBay and Amazon. Mr Reynolds said: "Participation in the Fast Track's league tables is based strictly on financial performance, which is a testament to our financial strength and growth since our inception less than six years ago. At SGWI, we view this growth as a journey and accept this recognition proudly as a major milestone in our journey to becoming the world's principal payroll provider."
Fast Track, a networking events and research firm focusing exclusively on top private companies, said a typical top 100 company is owned and run by entrepreneurs, has between 50 and 300 staff and has sales ranging between £5 million and £100 million.
Money-saving website TopCashback.co.uk, based in Uttoxeter, appears in the list for the second year in a row.
It ranks at number 35 with sales of £21 million in 2011-12, up from £3 million in 2008-09.
Natasha-Rachel Smith, head of communications and PR, said: "The whole team at TopCashback is overjoyed to be named the 35th fastest growing private company in the UK, especially as we were also included last year, where we ranked fifth.
"To be announced amongst so many fellow consumer and online names is a proud achievement."
The company, which employs about 50 people, offers online shoppers the chance to earn money at a range of high street names.
Once registered, shoppers go via the site to make a purchase, and it passes on the commission it receives from the retailer. TopCashBack currently has more than 1.6 million members.
Another newcomer to the list is Assured Recruitment, based at Keele University Business Park.
It ranks at number 55, with recent sales of more than £5 million compared to £1 million in 2008-09.
Assured counts the likes of Phones4U, Specsavers, and House of Fraser among its clients.
Adam Shaw, founder and managing director, said: "We are delighted with this recognition. Over the last six years we have strived to align ourselves to our market. Gaining a place in the Top 100 has acknowledged Assured as a solid, highly progressive brand."
Mark Kirkbride, commercial director, said Assured has ambitious growth plans for 2013.
He said: "Our entrepreneurial approach aligns well to high growth companies and businesses in periods of change."
