Family devastated after birthday boy's £500 toy Ferrari is stolen
BURGLARS stole a specialist toy car which was going to be a birthday present for a four-year-old boy.
Raiders broke into an outhouse at a home in Leek Road, Cheadle, sometime overnight on Wednesday, August 29, or in the early hours of Thursday, August 30.

The thieves took about £3,000-worth of electric power tools and a specialist battery-powered child's Ferrari car – due to be the main gift at Callum Matner's birthday party. Callum's mum, Kylee Mahoney, aged 24, of The Birches, Cheadle, said: "It's heartbreaking.
"The power tools are more expensive, but it is the car that we are most bothered about. It's the fact that we are not going to be able to see his face on the morning of his birthday, next Sunday, when he opens his present.

"It's a specialist car, a Ferrari battery powered child's car. We bought it off the internet for about £500.
"Callum watches Formula 1 and he always cheers on Felipe Massa in the red Ferrari and that's why we went for this particular car. He would have loved it, but now I don't know what we are going to do."
The break-in took place in the garden of Callum's grandfather, Steve Matner's house, in Leek Road Cheadle.
Mr Matner, aged 56, said: "There are fields to the back of the house, and sad to say, I think it must have been someone with local knowledge. We were the only ones targeted, so we think it must have been someone who knew that power tools were stored overnight.
Forensic officers have been round to inspect the place, but they have only been able to find glove prints."
The family have now offered a reward for any information leading to the recovery of the car.
Anyone with any information is asked to call police on the non emergency number 101, quoting crime number iz521912012.

"FIVE HUNDRED OUID !!! on a plastic pedal car ? must be on benefits. a lot of people cant afford that much for a real car ."
Smattering of jealousy there Anon?
Have read the article over three times now and can't see it, be a love and show me where it says the people involved are on benefits. Oh, you can't? Why?
Here's a thought, hard working folk can spend their hard earned on what the hell they like be it a £500 toy for their child or anything else and it's nobodies business but their own is it?
So what if some people can't afford it, others can.”
