Family were concerned about diabetic's health
DIABETIC Helena Arnold was so hungry in hospital that she sent her relatives out for fish and chips.
The 62-year-old, from Tunstall, pictured left, went into hospital in August with an abscess on her right hip and groin. She says she lost four stones through a combination of her poor health and the food during her stay.

Her husband, Fred, and sister, Margaret Jones, even resorted to taking meals to the hospital to make sure her blood sugar levels did not drop too low.
Mrs Arnold said: "We were asked to fill out a form with what we wanted, but we never got what we asked for because they went missing or didn't have the food they'd said they had."
She added: "I had a week where the food was quite nice because the hospital was still providing it.
"But then they started the new contract and it was very bad after that."
Mr Arnold, aged 64, said: "It was upsetting to see my wife not eating.
It's not right we had to bring food in from outside. It's a good job she had both of us to help her."
