HITTING THE ROAD: Robbie Williams will go on tour next year as part of a reunited Take That line-up.

The Tunstall-born pop star, who rejoined his old bandmates earlier this year, will take to the road with the lads starting on May 30.

Their tour, called Progress Live 2011, is their biggest yet and will see the group play 14 dates across the UK before heading to Europe for another six shows.

Fans have been promised Take That's biggest hits but Robbie will also perform tracks from his solo career.

Details were released at a press conference in London.

Robbie's dad Pete Conway has welcomed news of the tour.

He said: "I'm pleased the lads are all back together. I'm sure they'll have a great time on the road next year."

UK tickets for the tour go on sale at 9am on Friday.

“I'm very disappointed that Robbie isn't doing a local gig. He's had lots of support from local people but he never performs here. Especially has he's doing a stadium tour - what about The Brit (or if couldn't face Stoke's ground even the Vale). I'd love to see him come back to his roots to repay all the local fans...I don't think I'll ever see it though.”
